This beautiful tree grows on the Cape Peninsula and can be found on the slopes of Table Mountain. It grows in the biome area called fynbos- characterized by the shrubby vegetation. It gets its name from the silvery sheen caused by many fine satiny hairs on its grey-green leaves. It feels soft and velvety and shimmers when the sun hits it. It is now a protected tree.
