Aquila Reserve- Safari, Sunday October 18th

On Safari!

Today we got up early to head for Aquila, a private reserve two hours north of Cape Town. We were greeted at the reserve with champagne and then a nice breakfast in their lovely lodge. The 7 of us got in an open air vehicle, led by a guide and started our three hour safari through 1000's of acres of the reserve lands. By the end of the day, we saw the "big five" plus more! Cliff had an up close and personal encounter with a cheetah but those pictures are on my other camera and the batteries are dead. On Wednesday a small group is headed to Kruger National Park for the extension trip and an amazing 3 day safari experience. For those of us who couldn't get to Kruger, this was second best. One can't leave Africa without seeing the animals in the wild!
